EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two people are dead after a crash late Saturday night, Nov. 2 in far East El Paso, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday morning in an update.
Another person will face charges in the crash that happened at Eastlake and Rojas, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A 29-year-old man, identified as Rick Ballard, was found dead on the scene when Sheriff’s deputies arrived and a 28-year-old woman, identified as Dalia Olivas, was transported to a local hospital where she died, according to Sheriff’s officials.
The crash happened at about 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of Rojas and Eastlake and involved two vehicles. When deputies and medical crews arrived, they initially said they found three people with serious injuries. They did not confirm any fatalities at that time.
Sheriff’s Office official said another person will be arrested and will face two charges of intoxication manslaughter when released from the hospital.
The intersection will be closed for at least six hours, the Sheriff’s Office said.
