A fire burned a hillside off Highway 101 in Pismo Beach early Wednesday morning
The fire was reported in the Pismo Preserve around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
It was initially reported as 3 acres, with a slow rate of spread, according to Cal Fire, and the potential for 10 acres, with no structures threatened, the agency said.
As of 12:40 a.m., engines and bulldozers were going up the hillside to fight the blaze. Ash could be seen raining down on the nearby Pismo Lighthouse Suites.
The fire ended up burning 4 acres before it was controlled shortly before 4 a.m., according to the Watch Duty app.
