This is a painful time for all of us, and we just want the space to mourn and support each other. We appreciate everyone’s kindness and understanding and respectfully ask that the media allow us this time to grieve privately.”

Several of the injured in weekend fiery crash released from hospital
At around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, a large crash on I-96 near Webberville killed four people and injured at least 17 others, when a semi-truck was unable to stop for upcoming backed-up traffic, hit several vehicles, and caught on fire.
According to police, troopers from the Lansing and Brighton Post were working in the area of I-96 near M-52 working a detail with a DTE Energy crew to string power lines across the interstate. Police had stopped traffic, but say troopers had just reopened the interstate when the crash happened.
