WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — An arrest has been made in an alleged Monday night stabbing near the West Lafayette Wastewater Treatment Plant, West Lafayette Police said.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing about 9:35 p.m. Monday, according to a news release, that happened near a campsite in the woods behind the West Lafayette Wastewater Treatment Plant, located off River Road and Tapawingo Drive.
When officers arrived, the victim had already been transported to IU Health Arnett, a news release said, to be treated for their injuries.
Police said they identified the suspect in the stabbing as Justin Craig, a 21-year-old homeless man. On Wednesday, deputies from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office located Craig, the release said, and transported him to the West Lafayette Police Department after an interview.
Craig is currently being held in the Tippecanoe County Jail on preliminary charges of battery resulting in serious bodily injury.
