More than a dozen emergency workers were crowded around a semi-truck in an effort to rescue the occupants of a vehicle that became trapped beneath the cab of the truck.
There were at least three total vehicles involved in the crash that took place around 2:30 p.m. Friday on State Route 165 between Brushville and Heck roads.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol tells First News one woman was flown to St. Elizabeth Hospital in serious condition.
Lt. Benjamin Dennison said initial evidence suggests the semi-truck veered over the center line, hitting the other vehicle head-on. A third vehicle driving behind the other was also hit, receiving major front-end and body damage.
SR 165 has since reopened.
