Updated: 04-11-2024, 12.23 PM

The former O’Charley’s in Southaven has been demolished to make way for a new restaurant.

Raising Cane’s plans to build its first DeSoto County location at the site at 357 Goodman Road, near Interstate 55.

The Louisiana-based chicken fingers franchise expects to open its Southaven location in 2025; however, no specific opening date has been set at this time.

Raising Cane’s announced two Mid-South locations during the past year, including the Goodman Road site. In June, Raising Cane’s announced plans for a Memphis location near the Wolfchase Galleria.

The Memphis location will be adjacent to the former Bed, Bath and Beyond site at 2810 N. Germantown Parkway, according to construction permits filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development.

This restaurant chain started as a campus restaurant by LSU in 1996 and has become one of the fastest-growing large restaurant brands in the U.S.

Raising Cane’s has nearly 750 locations across 42 states. The closest locations to Memphis that are currently open are in Oxford and Tupelo, Mississippi.
