UPDATE: A breached water line at the Sahara Las Vegas Hotel has been repaired, according to resort officials. Service to all hotel rooms, public restrooms, bars, and entertainment venues has been fully restored. Select restaurants have returned to normal operations. Bazaar Meat and Balla Italian Soul are expected to reopen tomorrow.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A hotel on the north end of the Strip is without running water after a construction mishap, but the hotel is working to resolve the issue, according to a statement from the resort.

Sahara Las Vegas said that the water issue started Wednesday after survey work on the property by a contractor led to a breached water line.

The hotel said this lead to “intermittent issues” with the water services while work was done to repair the breach.

Sahara said in its statement that guests will receive complementary bottle water at every floor in the elevator lobby for immediate needs and complimentary refreshments and breakfast items in the lobby while restaurants are temporarily closed.

A viewer reached out to 8 News Now expressing concern for the situation, saying none of the bathrooms in the hotel are working and mentioned being provided “a bucket” in the hotel room.

Sahara’s statement said the resort is “working diligently” to fix the issue and is taking measures to assist guests in the meantime. The statement did not give an estimated time of restoration.

The full statement from the hotel can be read here:

Survey work being carried out on property by a contractor resulted in a breached water line yesterday. As a result, we have been experiencing intermittent issues with our water services while we work to repair the breach. Guests have access to complimentary bottled water on every floor at the elevator lobby for any immediate needs, as well as complimentary refreshments and food items in the lobby as restaurants remain temporarily closed. SAHARA is working diligently to resolve the issue and is taking measures to assist guests with other needs they may have in the meantime.

The breached water line was repaired Thursday night and an updated statement was sent out by resort officials.
