GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – The Grand Junction Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating two suspects who were allegedly involved in a hit-and-run.
The suspects, 42-year-old Jacob Ryan Konig and Nichole Serena Melvin, 36, were the reported driver and passenger, respectively. Konig’s truck allegedly struck a vehicle from behind around 9 p.m., Oct. 10, near the area of 28 3/4 Road and North Avenue. The truck was traveling at a high rate of speed that ended in a “serious crash,” GJPD said in the press release.
The other driver suffered serious bodily injury and remains in the hospital. Konig and Melvin allegedly fled the scene before law enforcement arrived on the scene.
If anyone has information on Konig and Melvin’s whereabouts, call nonemergency dispatch at 970-242-6707 and reference incident number 24-52028.
Residents can also anonymously call Crime Stoppers of Mesa County at 970-241-STOP. A tip that leads to an arrest can result in a $1,000 award.
