Yashasvi Jaiswal has stamped his authority on the 1st India vs Australia Test match in Perth by scoring a century in his first match down under. The innings has become even more special given that Jaiswal was dismissed on a duck in the first innings and has played a more restrained knock than normal during the 2nd innings.

The 22 year old remained not out 90 at the end of day’s play on Saturday and he did not waste much time to get to his maiden Test century in Australia today. On the 5th over of Day 3, Jaiswal played an upper cut off Josh Hazlewood to get to his 4th ever century. The milestone was immediately celebrated by everyone across the Indian dressing room including coach Gautam Gambhir and former captain Virat Kohli.
Earlier in the day, Jaiswal along with his batting partner KL Rahul put up a 201 run partnership for the first, breaking the record for most runs added by an opening pair in Australia. The earlier record by Sunil Gavaskar and Kris Srikkanth was of 191 runs.
