PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. – Award-winning musician Jelly Roll stopped by the Pulaski County jail to visit some inmates in the reentry program before his sold-out concert on Tuesday.
What started as a TikTok asking him to come to the jail, turned into something much bigger.

Those in the reentry program attend classes and support one another in their journey of recovery from substance abuse.
On Tuesday, they were visited by Jelly Roll, someone who had walked down that same path.
Jenny Knox sat in the front row as the Grammy-nominated singer talked about once being an addict and going to jail.
His story didn’t end with jail, as he’s now in recovery and leading a healthy life, something Knox says gives her hope for her own future.

“It’s just inspiring to know that I have something in common with somebody so amazing and that the possibilities are endless for me,” Knox said.
Sheriff Eric Higgins said the message was an inspiration for everyone who got the chance to hear it.
“To take the time to come here and to share that message with them, I’m sure that encourages them,” Higgins said. “I mean it encouraged me.”

Higgins even made Jelly Roll an honorary deputy to thank him for the visit that helped uplift so many spirits in the jail.
