ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — What started as deputies looking into the theft of electricity, turned into a drug bust on Saturday, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports.
On Oct. 19, deputies went to a home on Fox Run Road after reports that renters in one home had taken a power meter from one house and placed it on another, which is a class 1 misdemeanor. This address is about a mile from Correll Park.

While investigating, deputies say they found several pieces of drug paraphernalia in the rented home and smelled marijuana. The deputies then got a search warrant for the home and vehicles on the property.
A search reportedly revealed 7 grams of methamphetamine and 477 grams of fentanyl. Various drug paraphernalia like needles, smoking pipes, digital scales and plastic bags with what appears to be drug residue were also found. Five people were arrested at the home.
