Authorities are continuing their investigation into the death of Liam Payne with the help of the British singer’s father, Geoff Payne. Liam died on Oct. 16 when he fell from his third floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Although “pink cocaine” was reportedly found in Liam’s system, the prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday that a full autopsy has “not yet been completed” as they await further “toxicological and histopathological studies.”

Liam’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy posted a tribute on Wednesday, one week after his death, and revealed they talked about marrying in the next year.

Here’s where things stand.

Liam’s dad received an update on “the progress of the investigation” from Andrés Esteban Madrea, the head of the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14, on Monday.

“The musician’s father expressed his desire for an investigation and for the events to be known and stated to the prosecutor his willingness to testify about everything he knows about his son’s life that could help the investigation,” read an Oct. 22 statement from the prosecutor’s office.

The investigation consists of an analysis of Liam’s cellphones and computers. Authorities are looking at “photographs and videos from security cameras that require a longer analysis time.”

“Numerous statements were also taken to reconstruct the victim’s final hours and the scene of the events, a process that is still ongoing with hotel workers, acquaintances, technical and medical professionals, and other people linked to the victim through their work,” the statement continued.

Geoff arrived in Argentina last week and was photographed on Oct. 18 visiting the CasaSur Palermo Hotel where his son died.

Investigators are awaiting a full toxicology report, which will reveal what drugs were in Liam’s system at the time of his death. The prosecutor’s office previously stated they believed Liam fell as he was going “through some kind of outbreak due to substance abuse.”

A preliminary toxicology test showed the singer had traces of “pink cocaine,” cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack in his system, according to ABC News. “Pink cocaine” is a cocktail of several recreational drugs that can include MDMA (ecstasy), ketamine and caffeine in various amounts, per the National Capital Poison Center. Typically there is no cocaine in “pink cocaine.” Feds have issued a warning about the party drug, which was also named in one of the lawsuits against Sean “Diddy” Combs.

ABC News cited sources who claim “an improvised aluminum pipe” was found in Liam’s hotel room. Police previously said the room was in “total disorder.”

Cassidy, who dated the singer for about two years, posted multiple photos of the two of them on social media. She also included a handwritten note in which he apparently expressed his desire to marry.

“I wish you could see the huge impact you’ve had on the world, even as it feels so dark right now. You brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone — millions of fans, your family, friends, and especially me. You are incredibly loved,” she wrote.

“A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together. I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said, ‘Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444,'” she said.

“Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned,” she continued. “You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel. I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go.”
