NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — A 21-year-old woman who was driving 109 mph on Route 2 in Marlborough told a trooper that she was speeding because she had to use the restroom, according to Connecticut State Police.
Brianna Guerin had two young children in her Honda Civic when she was spotted speeding at about 9 p.m. Sunday, according to state police. She was in a 65 mph zone at the time, and state police note that she had passed several rest areas before she was pulled over.
Guerin had an adult passenger, in addition to the children. The vehicle’s registration was suspended, according to state police.
She has been charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, reckless driving, second-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of risk of injury to a child. She was released on a $1,000 referral, and a referral to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.
