HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) — Police responded to Milton Hershey School’s middle school building Catherine Hall after a “potentially threatening comment made on school property” on Wednesday morning.
Derry Township Police say they responded around 7:34 a.m. and assisted in sweeping the building. Officials determined there was no danger to students and people were eventually allowed to return to the building.

The school released a statement following the incident:
“At Milton Hershey School, the safety and well-being of our students and staff will always be our first priority. This morning, Catherine Hall at Milton Hershey School took precautionary measures following a potentially threatening comment made on school property. Derry Township Police were alerted, and law enforcement and MHS Campus Safety swept the school building and determined there was no danger. Catherine Hall was deemed safe, and all students and staff returned to the building. We appreciate the support of Derry Township Police in helping us keep our campus and community safe.”
