UPDATE 10/22/2024, 11:56 A.M. — The U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood has found a missing soldier deceased.
According to a press release, the circumstances surrounding 23-year-old Sergeant Sarah Roque’s death are under investigation by the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division.
The release reads in part:
Due to the ongoing investigation, there are no additional releasable details regarding the circumstances of Sergeant Roque’s death through Fort Leonard Wood Public Affairs.

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — Fort Leonard Wood and the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE) are asking the public for support in locating a missing soldier.
Fort Leonard Wood says in a Facebook post that Sergeant Sarah Roque, a 23-year-old soldier from the 5th Engineer Battalion, was last seen near Fort Leonard Wood and that her family and chain of command have not been able to contact her.
Fort Leonard Wood and MSCoE are working with other local law enforcement agencies to help find the missing soldier.
Sgt. Roque is described as a Hispanic female with black hair, brown eyes, about 5’2″ tall and weighing about 145 pounds.
Anyone with information about Sgt. Roque’s whereabouts should immediately call law enforcement officals at 573-596-6141 or submit an anonymous tip to CID Crime Tips.
