Suspect turns himself in for fatal Avon crash

AVON, Conn. (WTNH) — A suspect turned himself in to police following an active arrest warrant in connection to a crash that killed a woman in mid-February.

Timothy Preiser, 63, was charged with negligent Homicide with a Motor Vehicle, traveling unreasonably fast and failure to stay in the proper lane.

According to police, On Feb. 20, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on Waterville Road when it crashed with a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Jill Ayers, 48, who died as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.

Preiser was held on a $245,000 bond and taken to Hartford Superior
Court. His next court date is on Nov. 6.
