Democratic U.S. Rep. Angie Craig has defeated Republican challenger Joe Teirab in the race for Minnesota’s Second Congressional District, according to a call by the Associated Press.
Craig has won her fourth term in Congress, where she’ll continue to represent the largely suburban district that’s considered one of the most divided in the nation. Millions of dollars poured into the closely-watched race, which became a target for both national parties.
With 93% of precincts reporting results as of 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, the tally shows Craig ahead by more than 44,800 votes, her largest margin of victory yet.

In a statement Tuesday night, Craig said she’s humbled to be elected to a fourth term.
“Elections are not won in one day or by one person,” Craig stated. “They are won because a group of people, tied together by their care and hope for the future of our country, showed up month after month – ready to do the hard work to make a win like this possible. I’m grateful to every person whose dedication and persistence helped make tonight happen.”
